Our statement on body worn cameras.

Clinton County EMS Body Worn Camera

Clinton County Emergency Medical Services (EMS) is committed to transparency, accountability, and the protection of patient privacy in all aspects of our operations, including the use of body cameras.

We want to assure the community that our body camera usage complies fully with the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA), ensuring the confidentiality and security of all patient information captured during emergency responses. Our protocols are designed to protect sensitive data while enhancing our ability to provide quality care.

Importantly, the recordings made by our EMS personnel are not subject to the Freedom of Information Act (FOIA). This means that these recordings are not publicly accessible, further safeguarding the privacy of individuals we serve.

All data and videos collected are stored securely using the Axon Evidence Cloud, a platform recognized for its robust security measures. Access to this data is strictly limited to authorized personnel only, ensuring that recordings are used solely for training, quality assurance, and operational review purposes.

We believe that the use of body cameras will enhance our service delivery while maintaining the highest standards of privacy and security. Thank you for your continued support as we strive to serve our community effectively and responsibly.
